SFS #002: Money Blocks

Read time: 4 minutes

Peace and Happy Saturday!

Money blocks are the silent killers of financial progress. You can’t see them but they are deadly. Describing them in words —reads like : A money block is a series of thoughts, a mindset, or a feeling that gets in the way of you accomplishing financial success. Saying them aloud —sounds like: I don’t care about money, I just want to help people.” “You have to work really hard for money.” “I can’t get paid for doing what I love.” “I don’t have time to manage my money.” Sound familiar to you? If yes, here’s one of my favorite ways to identify money blocks: Write your money origin story. This is the story of your relationship with money. Start as early as you can remember —up until now.

Once you write it out, ask yourself the following questions: 1-What patterns do I see? 2-What were specific financial events that impacted me? 3-Did I make financial mistakes that still haunt me? 4-Was I told specific things about money by my family? 5-Who am I comparing myself to that’s more financially successful? You will start to pick up on clues about what’s going on in your subconscious! And once you understand the origin of your views about money, it’s easier to get rid of the blocks. Now what does this have to do with reaching 7 figures? One of the main differences between a person who earns 7 figures or has reached a net worth of 7 figures and someone who hasn't is the thought process around money. Our thoughts are something we can control once we evaluate them. Of course there are additional steps but this is definitely step number one. Trying writing out your money origin story and see what you uncover! Once you identify your money blocks you can begin the work of creating strategies to get rid of them. If you need help writing or reviewing your money origin story, use the link below and let’s get to work. Cheers, If you want to learn more about my 7 steps, I have attached my "Seven Steps To Seven Figures" guide. And if you want to discuss the "Evaluate Your Mindset" strategy further, schedule a goal session: https://calendly.com/emcloydyourcfo/30-min. 7 Steps To Seven Figures (fillable e-book).pdf
